I saw another thread about going to the AG Fashion shows and thought I'd share our recent experience as well, and answer a question that was posed reqarding pricing on the last thread:

Thank you for the pictures. May I ask how much the Tickets cost? Can you guess how many people were at the fashion show? tks for the info.
I know it was a benefit. There is a group here that wants to hold a AG fashion show. You have to do one show of 1,500 people or three shows (three afternoons in a row) of 500 each. To get the fashion show cost $6k. They give the group a mailing list of your town and surrounding areas. AG provides the goodiebags and will sell AG items. I am not sure about the auction wither AG donates it or it is part of the money the groups pays to get the show.

My SIL and I had taken Diana to one 2 years ago that was held to benefit The Cancer Society. It was held only one day at a very exclusive party center and the cost was about $45/adult and $25/child tickets. We were served a wonderful sit down lunch, door prizes, raffles, etc, daughters of the organizers were the fashion models.
Last week we went to one that lasted 4 shows, 2 Sat/2 Sun and was to benefit a local long-time children's ballet theatre. The cost for this show was a little less $25 each child or adult. They also offered for an extra $25 an opportunity for your child to "model" and in return they would also receive a tee shirt and cap that read "Sparkle, Spirit, and Style". The food at this show was more tea-like, with small finger sandwiches, veggies, lemonade and coffee, petit-fours for dessert.
The fashion shows at both highlighted the historical girls meet outfits, xmas outfits, and pj's and then showed some current AGT and BBaby outfits just like Vicky mentioned.
My friend and I paid the extra $ so our two girls could "model". It was a little disappointing as all they did was have one of the ballerinas escort the girls onstage, as the spokesperson said " This is Diana, her favorite color is pink, her favorite doll is Kit, and she likes to play with her dolls and do s****booking"... So it wasn't actual modeling of any of the AG clothes. And it got very crowded up on the stage with all the girl and ballerina models very quickly so that I couldn't even see where our girls were!
At the end, they all stayed on the stage and sung a song that was on a CD we had also rec'd in advance with our tickets. I have no idea who produced the song or who was singing on it, if AG was involved or if it was done by the ballet company.
So anyway, it sounds to me like AG does have some basic control over outfits, cost to the benefit director, but then after that how each show is ran really depends on the benefit directors. I'm also not sure how the raffles are conducted, meaning how they get all the products. Are those donated by AG or all purchased by the benefit. At our show, they had E/F dolls, E doll with her bed, BBTwins and stroller, AGT doll, new BB doll and crib with canopy, all for raffle prizes.
There were smaller door prizes like mini dolls, some AGT outfits, and Diana's named was called to win a one year subscription to American Girl Magazine!

Oh, here was the song: (parts of it are rap)
"I LIKE YOUR STYLE"
Girl 1: Hey, girl!
Girl 2: Who's there?
Girl 1: It's me, Guess where"
Girl 3: In a book, up a tree?
Girl 1: Take a look - FIND me!
Girl 4: Hey, friend, you know you make me smile --
Girl 5: I like your spirit,
Together: I LIKE YOUR STYLE
Wow! I want to be singing,
My life is sure feeling great!
'Cause I learned something new,
Made a friend or two--
And that is something to celebrate!
See my sparkle,
My spirit,
My own kind of style!
Inside me i feel it
And I want to Smile!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Take a good look at me--
I'm glad to be an American Girl!
Look how much I love living
At this moment in time--
I can hope, I can share,
I can shout, I can share,
And so many other choices are mine.
You know, because we're all different,
Imagine what it would be
If we each took a dream,
Went to work as a team
To make future full of promise -- for you and me!
I like your sparkle,
Your spirit,
Your own special style!
Inside you, you feel it
And you want to smile!
Hey! Hey! Hey! I think you'll agree
It's great to be an American Girl!
As time goes by I know that things will be changing.
I wonder what I will see?
I'll make my way, say what I have to say,
Trying every day....to be the best I can be!
S- is Smart 'cause you excel
T- the Truth you always tell
Y - The question you ask
L is 'cause you make me Laugh
E is for the Extra mile
Put it all together, girl,
I like Your Style!
There's a kind of world where I want to live,
And there's lots of good inside of me I'm ready to give!
I want to fill it up with friendship, hope and harmony -
I'm glad to be an Americal Girl!
'Cause it's our sparkle,
Our spirit,
Our own kind of sylte!
Inside us we feel it
And we want to smile!
Hey! Hey! Hey! It's so east to see
It's great to be an American Girl!
